Nature
The Beach... maybe the principal reason why people come to Palmas del Mar... to get a nice sun tan, or relax in the warm water of the beautiful beach. Surfboards and body boards are very popular here!
Bird Watching... A great variety of birds are found at Palmas del Mar. Found at the lakes and beach are Caribbean Coots, Herons, Ducks, Sea Pelicans, Seagulls, Gray Kingbirds, Nightingales, and many more!
Also on the beach, but harder to find, are sea turtles such as the leatherback and hacksbill that nest on the beach. Manatees are also in the area.
Coquies of Puerto Rico... This little frog sings through the nigth with a familiar lullabye. There are 14 different species, some of which are endangered.
Sports
Golf Club... Two 18 hole Golf Courses are located at Palmas del Mar. One designed by Rees Jones, and the other designed by Gary Player.
Tennis...Palmas has 20 tennis courts throughout the complex with soft and hard clay courts. Doubles, instructors, and other activities are available.
Water Sports...Snorkeling, Scuba Diving, Deep Sea Fishing
Horseback Riding...Trail Rides and a large equestrian center are available within Palmas del Mar for your riding enjoyment. Paso Finos are the favorite mounts.
Dining & Nightlife
There are many restaurants to chose from. Favorites are Chez Daniel & Le Grill, Blue Hawaii, Plaza Steakhouse & Pier 27, El Nopal, Restaurant Toco Coco. Nightlife includes a Casino and a few nightclubs and dance places such as Toco Coco for live music, and The Sports Bar for unwinding after a long day at the beach.
